Hey There! I’m Emily

I dig into numbers, so you don’t have to.

I’m a licensed CPA, bookkeeper, fellow entrepreneur, wife, & momma of two little boys. When I’m not looking at spreadsheets – you can find me playing with my kiddos, enjoying my second cup of coffee or glass of Trader Joe’s cabernet, or working out.

I received my Bachelor’s from Western Kentucky University (Go Tops!) and have worked in public accounting (audit), small, and large businesses before starting Bloom Accounting Co.  With experience in various industries including start-up, tech, construction, manufacturing, non-profit, and small business – I love to help entrepreneurs succeed.

I initially left my public accounting career to start Bloom Accounting Co. so I could spend more time with my kiddos and have more flexibility, while still providing for my family. Along the way, I ended up working as Director of Operations for a great tech company. At night, I’m passionate about helping others achieve their dreams – while being their partner, numbers gal, and cheerleader. I can’t wait to hear about your business!

Through these services, I personally help you, the entrepreneur, succeed in a side of your business that you may not feel confident in. After our initial phone call, I will review your current financials to understand how we can best work together.

Once you are on-boarded, you can breathe! No more catching up on your books at night or on the weekends, I’ve got you covered!

Tending

Paperless means more efficient. When you make purchases throughout the month, you will send them electronically so they are classified appropriately. No more keeping up with paper receipts! We stay in contact throughout the month as needed. At the end of each month, you will receive reports to review your company’s performance.

Harvest

Together, we will analyze month-end reports and I can assist with strategizing on how to help you become more profitable!

    Is my business too small for bookkeeping?

     

    • No business is too small. Every bloom starts with a seed! 
    • If you’re serious about your business, you’ll take the numbers seriously. The earlier you do this in your business, the better foundation for growth. Tracking your sales and expenses accurately is how smart business decisions are made and enables you to reach your goals.
    • You may be small today, but with my insight and your ability to focus clearly on the growth of your business, you will grow!

     

     

    Do I need to organize my books before we can begin?

     

    • No, that’s what I’m here for! 
    • Part of the on-boarding process is to get your company set up with clean books from either the first day of business or the first day of the current year, whichever you prefer.

     

    Do you do taxes?

    At this time, I do not provide tax filing services. However, as a CPA, I do have tax knowledge to help guide you along the way to make smart tax moves and make sure you’re in the hands of a trustworthy tax preparer. I will also work closely with your tax preparer in case they have any questions.

    Is there a time commitment?

    There is no required time commitment, and the monthly bookkeeping contracts are all month-to-month. I do ask for a 30-day notice if you ever no longer wish to continue services.
